Accessibility Statement
Last updated: May 2026
After Relay is committed to making our platform accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe that grieving families and the professionals who support them deserve a dignified, usable experience regardless of how they access the web.
Our Commitment
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
What We've Done
- All interactive elements are keyboard-navigable
- Color contrast ratios meet WCAG AA standards throughout the interface
- Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- Form inputs include visible labels and descriptive error messages
- Images that convey meaning include alternative text descriptions
- The family portal is fully usable on mobile devices with touch interfaces
- The platform supports both English and Spanish to serve diverse families
- Session management allows families to return to their portal without losing progress
Known Limitations
We are actively working to improve accessibility across the platform. Some areas that are still being improved include:
- Complex data visualizations in the analytics dashboard (text alternatives coming)
- QR code images (descriptive alt text and print instructions are provided)
- Some third-party embedded components may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA
Assistive Technology
After Relay has been tested with the following assistive technologies:
- NVDA screen reader with Chrome (Windows)
- VoiceOver with Safari (macOS and iOS)
- TalkBack with Chrome (Android)
- Keyboard-only navigation (no mouse)
